Naoryn slowed as they neared the Lodge, for one because the snow was deep, it appeared the Lodge had gotten hit hard by a storm in the last day or so, and two because there was more traffic around the Lodge than on the obscure trails he Goprin had used to get up the mountain. The sky was clear today though and Nyera inhaled the crisp scent with a sound of contentment. Troe smiled from his position behind her. It had been a mostly quiet trip except for trying to keep the dragonets from falling off as they strained to take in new sights at every turn.
"I guess Brayn will be happy to see you after a whole week alone, huh?" Troe asked, attempting one last time to make conversation before they got back.
Nyera tensed visibly and turned a surprised look back at him. "You haven't talked to him?"
Troe, his friendly demeanor squashed by his surprise at her reaction, blinked at her in surprise. "Not since a few days before we left, why?"
"You should probably talk to him then." Nyera turned back to face forward then, effectively cutting off any attempt he could make at conversation. He was curious, but whatever was going on, Nyera obviously wasn't going to be the one to tell him. He would just have to seek out his cousin sometime and find out what was going on.
They spent a few moments in silence before Naoryn stopped in front of the Lodge to let them off. Troe handed Nyera down then carefully attempted to guide the squirming, flapping Anshoku down as well. In the end he was forced to drop her because she was determined to do it herself! She fell on top of Nyera who managed to catch the still small dragonet, but just barely kept her balance while doing so. Sav fortunately was a little smarter about it. Hooking his claws into Naoryn's side and helping them ease him down. He was also larger than Anshoku at this stage and so they were all grateful that he was sensible about it.
Mykha was waiting for them by the time they unloaded all their items and her eyes danced as she saw the two dragonets accompanying them. "Well, looks like you were both busy! And who are these two?"
Introductions were made, Mykha gushed over the babies as much as was appropriate and then was all business again. "Well, let me know if you have any trouble switching into dragon-sized apartments. I can always grease some wheels if need be! Did you get everything you needed, Nyera?"
"Yeah, it's all here, I just need to take it to my team so they can get to work!"
"They've still got the day off, so worry about it tomorrow. Why don't you go see about a new apartment for yourself and mention that Troe will need one too!" Mykha smiled apologetically at Troe as Nyera nodded and moved off, Anshoku waving a feathered wing at him and Sav and then frolicking along at her bond's heels. "Sorry, Troe, but I'd like to pick your brain now if you're not too tired from the trip?"
Troe, still kind of worried about what was going on that he needed to talk to his cousin about just shook his head and filed that thought away. "I'm fine, better to pick my brain now before it becomes bogged down with work, right?"
"Exactly my thought. Let's head for my office and talk on the way!"
