It took a week for Herath to hear back from her cousin. When she did Basium left her a cheerful note and told her to stop by anytime. Herath wasted no time heading back over to the spacious apartment her cousin inhabited.
"Who are you?" asked the deep red dragon who answered the door. He had creamy tan hair and feathers covering the top of his head and his manner was abrupt and unfriendly.
"My guess is that's my cousin, dear, let her in if it is!" called a cheerful voice from inside.
Herath nodded, "I'm Herath and I was looking for my cousin Basium?"
"Very well, come on in," he replied and moved out of her way. She moved into the room beyond the door and smiled at her cousin. She could see the resemblance to her aunt in her narrow nose and white points, but there the resemblance ended. Basium had coppery-red fur fringing her face, her wings, her elbows and her tail, evidence of her father's genes, no doubt.
"Well, Herath, I was pleased to receive your message and I talked to my mother, she said you're looking for passage offworld, right?"
"That I am, Basium. There is a clutch I'd like to visit."
"Wanting to bond? How cute..."
"No, actually I was just hoping to sponsor for now. Do you think you can help me?"
"Where is it you need to go?"
"The MonFiamma Frenzy."
"Have we been there before, Nytuvan?" Basium called to her mate, who had left them alone and moved into the back of the apartment.
"Yes, it's located in Aanu'Sil."
"Do you mind going back?"
"If I must."
"You must! Thank you, dear!" She turned a mischeivous smile on Herath and brought her voice back to a conversational level. "Well, that's all settled then. How soon do you want to leave?"
"Whenever you're ready!"
The arrangements were made and before Herath knew it she was in Aanu'Sil at the MonFiamma Frenzy. Basium and Nytuvan agreed to wait for her to take care of her sponsoring and take her and her sponsorling back to Star City once everything was official. Herath thanked them profusely and went about finding out what she needed to do in order to sponsor one of the dragons there.
